Canadian Quilter's Association (CQA) 2014 - Wonders of Niagara
Welcome to the Tuesday Preview. Have you ever been to a CQA National Quilt Show? There is so much to take in that it can just be the greatest adventure and a perfect reason to hit the road with a few friends.
I'm so honoured to have been chosen as a CQA judge this year and I'm excited to board the plane in less than 2 weeks to take part in the festivities. I'll be judging, doing on the spot interviews, checking out the vendors, events, dinners and more. I'm even taking a workshop as a brand new user of EQ7 for Mac! So this week on the podcast I'll be giving you a preview of what to expect for this year's CQA/ACC 2014 National Juried Show.
Quilt Canada 2014
St. Catharines (Niagara Region)
ONTARIO
June 11 - 14, 2014
For now you can check out the Quilt Canada Blog for everything from lodging, events and local sights to merchants, teachers and more... The local committee has worked hard for a year and they have a great show in store for attendees. And if you are planning to go on the Maid of the Mist, no worries - they provide rain gear.
And . . .We have a winner for this week's Quilter's Corner - Maxine Fairclough. She submitted a story about her Quilt of Valour. So she's won the free pattern giveaway for making a QoV in 2014 and the weekly prize for the Quilter's Corner. Congratulations Maxine! You win a gorgeous fat quarter bundle by Northcott Silks Inc.
Northcott - Cottons that feel like silk!
SO don't forget, you can win a free pattern if you send me a photo f your Quilt of Valour in 2014 and please send in your Quilter's Corner Story! You don't want to miss out on being eligible for the July3rd grand prize giveaway of EQ7 software!
Until next time . . . dream big and work hard in the studio . . .
with Canadian Quilt Talk!
Hope you have an awesome time! So sorry now that I cannot be there, it would have been interesting to possibly meet you in person, ah, but there are other bloggers who will be attending...so I guess I can enjoy their experiences!
ReplyDeleteHi Shari, yes, there are so many great quilt bloggers that will share their stories about CQA. Speaking of great bloggers - thanks for the lovely post about the postcard swap on your Living With Purpose blog today! And I'm so glad you are all signed up to participate. So sweet!
DeleteI'm attending this year, it will be my first big quilt show and I'm excited to be going!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a fan of QOV and have my own little group to make quilts for Veterans in our county. We will make our first presentation in November at the Legion's annual dinner. I'm not quite sure of the process to send a picture of a quilt, will try replying to the email (I follow by email).
hey! Maybe I'll run into you in St Catherine's! Looking forward to another great CQA Conference!
ReplyDeleteIt is so wonderful that we are privileged to have Quilt Canada so close by. Brock is a lovely venue to host. (I maybe biased because I grew up and live nearby) The blossoms have just come out on the fruit trees in the surrounding area so the leaves will be soon here. Especially since we had the first sunny warm weekend of the season.

Quilt shows are exceptional times. To see the expertise of each quilter, their designs, workmanship, and to spend time networking with others who share the passion of quilting is what makes each show unique and special.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time and judging tasks.
