Day 29 of 42

I just heard about a wonderful Mom named Kathy who received a quilt in the hospital for her tiny preemie son 9 months ago and was inspired to make quilts for other children in the same situation. As the coordinator of the ABC Quilts program for my local quilt guild, I find these stories so heartwarming. There is nothing so rewarding in life as to provide comfort to a child. If you would like to help out Kathy in her project, you can email her at magnoliadesigns@shaw.ca. She is hoping to accumulate enough fabric and batting to make 12 quilts.
If you love how it feels to donate a quilt and you want to continue to make donations in the future, you can send an email to brandylynn@shaw.ca. The ABC Quilt program in Manitoba aims to provide a sense of comfort and community to adults, babies and children in hospitals, shelters, and other social service agencies. Our program provides a rewarding volunteer opportunity for quilters which clearly benefits those in need. ABC quilts represent the caring, generous spirit of the members of the Manitoba Prairie Quilters. We donate up to 800 quilts per year to those in need and we welcome support from generous quilters worldwide. If you need support on opening a Quilt donation program in your local area, send me an email. I'd love to chat. I applaud the generosity of quilters like Kathy who are so busy with young children at home and still take the time to give back to the community.
